The Sothern Renaissance It was a literary movement that started in the 1920's but its cliamx was in the 30's and in the 4o's. In the 1920's , at Vanderbilt University some poets and teachers created a group called "The Fugitives "( a magazine they had published from 1922 to 1925 ) his group was led by John Crowe Ransom .
