... Many movements have occurred over the ages and some of the most significant movements happened between the times of 1825-1845. Reform movements in the United States sought to expand democratic ideals because of the beginning of the women’s rights movement, the abolitionist movement, and the temperance movement. First, the women’s right’s movement sought to expand the democratic ideals because they were fighting for equality. Equality was and still is an important aspect of democratic ideals. ... ” The women’s right movement was set on balancing and equalizing the rights of a man and a women, a liberal idea and movement, hence expanding the democratic ideals of the United States, but this was not the only movement based on democratic ideals or beliefs. ... This movement was expanding democratic ideals simply because every man should have equal rights and liberties despite what race, sex, age, etc.
