Reform movements in the United States sought to expand democratic ideals because of the beginning of the women’s rights movement, the abolitionist movement, and the temperance movement. First, the women’s right’s movement sought to expand the democratic ideals because they were fighting for equality. Equality was and still is an important aspect of democratic ideals. ... ” The women’s right movement was set on balancing and equalizing the rights of a man and a women, a liberal idea and movement, hence expanding the democratic ideals of the United States, but this was not the only movement based on democratic ideals or beliefs. ...
