What makes Iago Tick
There is no one particular motivation for Iago’s despicable acts in the play, however, in my opinion, he is a moral pyromaniac who is motivated mainly by pure hatred. ...
Iago undeniably has an unquenchable thirst for power and domination, but his power can only be attained by manipulating and annihilating others. Iago sets up his victims and then watches, with evil in his eye, as his plans unfold and his targets fall into his trap.
