The Definition of a Hunter What is a hunter? The word “hunter” defined from the dictionary means one who searches for game. People hunt for two reasons. People may hunt to feed their family or for the sport. Persons that hunt for the sport do it because they enjoy spending time outside and the adrenaline rush of tracking and shooting their prey. To help them when they hunt they use experiences they’ve learned, items they can buy and a course they must attend. To be a licensed hunter people have to complete a hunter’s safety course. The course covers gun safety, what to bring with you in case of getting lost or hurt and what to do when lost. The people teaching the course will tell you to always respect the gun that is used as if it was loaded and to always check that it’s on safety.
