Free will, though, was used in any case because some might argue that no matter what outside forces were trying to make the person jump off, they still would have not jumped. ... It was his own free will that depicted whether he would live or die; yet he chose to stick to his thoughts and ideas, no matter what the consequence. ... So this irony, which Socrates noted himself, was a showing of how people have free will but they might not have a choice or they might have a choice but no free will.
