Shell had previously purchased an offshore oilfield called Eleanor, in the Caspian Sea, prior to Shell being able to utilize this oil field it had to acquire the production licences and permits from the Capistan Ministry of Energy and Environment. ... Shells involvement in this oilfield is extremely beneficial to the Capistan economy as the presence of such a large cooperation will create jobs, bring spotlight to the country of Capistan, and perhaps in the future bring more foreign investors to our country.
