Taditional Oral Ballad
A traditional oral ballad has several dominant characteristics. It is a flowing ballad with its sounds and beats. The Ballad of Birmingham is a written ballad but resembles an oral ballad by mans of its being dramatic in its dialogue, the ominous foreshadowing of its tragedy, the ballads irony, and the sudden twist of fate. The rhyme schemes of this ballad also represent that of a traditional by its abcb pattern. In this essay I will I will examine more in depth these ways that this ballad represents an oral ballad. ...
