In the Worst Act of Terrorism On September 11, terrorism struck America brazenly and with such heartbreaking destruction we are left to ponder that which is really important in life. Through the senseless events of this terrorist act we are drawn to a new awareness of hope. We realize that desperate people turn to hope as a way of understanding and coping. It is hope that allows people to move beyond the pain and suffering caused by such destruction and it is hope that is necessary to live life. Despite the havoc and destruction that abounds in the world, there is still hope: hope in humankind, hope in God, and hope in man’s dedication and courage. Hope is the complete assurance and certitude regarding the strength of something; in this case the people of the USA. There is hope in human kind, and a new light is shed on the importance of relationships and of the general goodness of people. People stand united with a changed outlook on the importance of relationships. In times of crisis, we need to have faith in humankind that all people are not evil, unlike the terrorists.
