Crash & Learn
It all began early one Saturday afternoon, when I got a call from my friend Jenny. She asked if I’d like to go to the mall with her and her brother, I said yes. She lives right down the street, so they arrived abruptly. “We have to pick up Vince,” Jenny said. “Is that ok?” Vince is one of those guys that you avoid as much as possible; unfortunately he was Jenny’s brother Jeff’s best friend. “Yeah that’s fine…I guess,” I replied. We picked him up from his house about two miles away. After waiting several minutes, Vince walked out of the back door with a pint of Captain Morgan in his hand. Although it was only 12:00 in the afternoon, shock value was low; this was a natural occurrence for him. “Don’t drink that in here man, what if we get pulled over, I’m screwed,” said Jeff. “Shut-up bro, you’ll be fine just relax!” Vince followed. And we were off. We continued off to Somerset mall making no stops on the way. Although we all realized the danger of our situation, it was overlooked. We parked the car and proceeded to exit, when Vince said, “Hold on, let me finish this real quick,” and he did.
