In the Declaration there is written, that all people are equal and endowed by their Creator with unalienable rights, which contains life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. So these laws contradict the situation during the time, when the Declaration was written. ... So it wasn’t independence for all people like for instance the blacks. But I think, the declaration was a big progress for the humanity all over the world, especially for Europe.
