Finding Forester: Think Again

FindingThink Again Finding Forrester, a movie released in 2001, is a story about a talented 16-year-old boy named Jamal Wallace who lives the average teenager’s life of school, friends, and family, but has a secret. In order to be accepted among his group of basketball playing gangster friends, he hides his passion for writing. He unintentionally meets a Pulitzer-prize-winning novelist whose name is William Forrester. Forrester becomes Jamal’s mentor and teaches him how to excel in his writing ability. Both characters discover surprising things about each other that prove their first assumptions wrong. Finding Forrester is a great representation of how society is broken up into classes, how people desire to find acceptance, and how people make assumptions about others. This movie has the standard three social classes represented within it.
