Tony Chung Mr. Buchholz The Quiet American The Quiet American by Graham Greene told a story of two men named Fowler and Pyle. They are fictional characters that live during the cold war. Pyle has a committed attitude toward the war, so he join the Economic Aid Mission, a American group or people who are aiding the Vietnamese. On the other hand, Fowler only believes in objective reality, and is not interested in who wins or loses. He also has sympathy for those who are involved in the war. Fowler is a realistic man who doesn’t believe in mental concepts such as God and liberty.
