Cochlear implant essay Cochlear implants are a very large controversial issue in the deaf community. If I were to have a deaf child I would want to get it a cochlear implant. Since I am hearing, it would be a lot easier to raise a child with a cochlear implant, then one who is completely deaf. ... Like in the movie “summers story” if the kid wanted to be part of the deaf culture, all it would have to do is take of the cochlear implant, then when it wants to hear it just puts it back on.
