"The grace of God is one of the most important subjects in all of Scripture. ... These are the words Bridges begins his book, which takes us through many important aspects of grace. The basic topic of the book is that the Bible teaches: “we are not only saved by grace, but we also live by grace every day of our lives. It is this important aspect of grace that seems to be so little understood or practiced by Christians. ... 11) This book is very inspiring and has allowed me to learn more about God’s grace. Before reading this book I knew that grace was a significant aspect of Christianity, however, I believed that my relationship with God was based more on performance rather than on His grace. Bridges book has allowed me to learn and pull out three important aspects of his book on which I will focus on throughout this report: 1. The definition of grace 2. Salvation by grace 3. Living by grace 1) Definition of Grace I often asked myself, what is “grace”? ... Grace is god blessing sinners who do not deserve his blessing. 2) Salvation by Grace This book is mainly about “living by grace,” before we can live by grace we find need to recognise that we are saved by grace. Bridges realises this and devotes two chapters which helped me grasp this important truth. The simple message of salvation by grace is often misunderstood.
