Edward Bernays Father of Public Relations

Known as the “Father of Public relations”, Edward Bernays, who pioneered the Pubic Relations industry’s idea of psychology to rough out what has become the strategies and practices of public relations in the United States today, spoke to public relations students at Seton Hall University on Thursday. Bernays, nephew of Sigmund Freud, taught a class entitled “Crystalizing Public Opinion,” named after one of his famous books. ... ” Bernays said one of his favorite techniques for manipulating public opinion was the indirect use of "third party authorities" to plead for his clients’ causes. ...
