Truth is Freedom
Truth is what solves all problems and relieves all stresses. In the tales of Franklin’s Tale, Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, and “Trouthe” a form of the truth resolves all of the conflicts. In the case of the Franklin’s Tale, the truth is honor, going through with a promise that a person makes. ... Dorigen does not want to go through with her promise and considers suicide but then, her husband returns and Dorigen does the right thing and tells the truth. By telling the truth, the problems slowly resolve by themselves. ... In the end, truth sets everyone free of his or her problems. The form of truth in Sir Gawain and the Green Knight is also honor, but how the moral of the story is learned is different.
