The Salem Witch trails was based on a group pf Puritans about the evils of witches and
their practice of witchcraft. ... The only option a person had in the late 1600s was to rat some other witch out, since there was no witches in reality hundreds of innocent people were judged wrongly and set to death or jail.
People were very afraid of the spells and curses a witch could cast on them. One of the most common ways a witch would fortune sombody in a bad way was with a rag doll. ... It was belived that a witch could cause great pain to the hated person, by sticking pins in the rag doll. ... Even though she didn’t fit the image of a witch and also was kind and well tempered. ... When Rebecca Nurse was sentenced these were the word she said “I am no more a witch than you are a wizard, and if you take away my life God will give you blood to drink”. ... A witch supposedly had the powers to make her finding of fact to do what ever she pleased. ... Even though she did not fit the description of a witch which was, ugly, old, bad tempered, she was sentenced to death.
