Open mouth, enter foot

|
Benjamin Franklin said, “A slip of the foot you may soon recover, but a slip of the tongue you may never get over.” In other words, in time, people with broken bones or scrapes or scars will heal, but people who do not watch what they say will wish they had, because it will come back to haunt them. Many people say something they wish they had not and end up regretting it, because they lose friends. Therefore, speaking before watching what is said could be most detrimental to self-esteem and well-being and, if not administered, could lead to notoriety.
