Article Summary #1 Safra, J. 2003. Alzheimer's Disease. The New Encyclopedia Britannica Volume 1: Pages 306-307. Developing in middle to late adult life, Alzheimer's disease is a brain disorder that is progressive and also not able to be reversed. Throughout the stages of this disease, memory loss plays a huge factor. It will start with just forgetting little things, like what you were going to pick up at the grocery store, then eventually advance to such a loss of memory that you forget who your family is.
