B) Color Van der Weyden uses just a few colors in his painting. The majority of the paintings are dark colors such as grey and brown. This is used to show the feeling of sadness. The clothes behind Jesus and Mary are in red because this can attract viewerˇ¦s attention. Comparing to van der Weydenˇ¦s one, Mantegnaˇ¦s work is much more colorful. No matter did the figures wear clothes in many colors, but the background is also painted in different colors.
