The Death of Marat
During the French Revolution a deputy to the convention, Marat, was murdered by Royalist Charlotte Corday on July 13th 1793. Corday was allowed into Marat’s apartment by claiming she would know about a conspiracy of the Gironde in Caen. Marat had a skin ailment that caused him to stay in a medicinal bath for long periods of time. While Charlotte told Marat names of conspirators, Marat wrote them down on a piece of paper.
