Ribot and Sargent from the Manet/ Vleasquez
At a glance, one notices a marked difference in the style and approach between a portrait painted by Theodule-Augusin Ribot, and one by John Singer Sargent. Specifically, the basis for my own observation comes from Ribots Lazarillo de Tormes and his Blind Master, and a few of Sargents paintings- Albert de Belleroche, Head of Aesop, and his Velasquez copy, The Jester Calabazas.
