The ancient art of the middle east is an extravagance Three great examples of it are: The Scenes of War, The Victory Steele, and finally last but not least The Palette of Namer. These three works of art or “extravagances” are spectacular. They show a lot of meaning and details through their conventions. These art pieces have told and shown a lot of their culture and life. It is amazing that these people roamed around the earth nearly 4,000 years ago. Each art piece tells a different story, however each one is important and wonderful. The first work of art that will be dissected is, The Scenes of War (2600 B.C.) from the Standard of Ur. This piece of art happens to come from the Sumerians who ruled from 3000 - 2300 B.C. and were conquered of course by the forceful and war like Akkadians. The Standard of Ur as two sides of it.
