Nowadays, the process of creating art is becoming more and more commercialized. Influenced by medias like the publishing, cinematic, musical and television worlds, the general public tends to see art as only commercial products and nothing more. In reality, this is how artists make a living – by selling all forms of art to desired customers. No one can prevent the commercialization of art from occurring. However, the act of creating art just for the purpose of making a sum of money does not reflect the true value of art at all. True art is present when the artist brings real emotions into the artwork, when traces of imperfection are found, and when the art evokes strong feelings from the viewers.
First of all, no art is a true piece of work unless it is something that is true to the artist’s heart. ... ” Indeed, the art of painting is merely a more visualized form of a journal. ... As far as commercialization of art goes, a lot of artists become more or less “robotic.” They create art only because of supply and demand – somebody asks them to draw, and they do exactly that.
