Directing as a Carrer

“Lights, camera, action!” These are the infamous words of a director. Those commands are among the many different things a director is responsible for. Directing, like many other positions within the entertainment industry, is on the rise. As time goes by, movies and film are becoming more and more popular. Ever since the early 1930s, film has been an important part of American history. During World War II, people flocked to the theater to watch the news, the films put together by directors overseas. People’s lives have been changed by inspirational stories, history relived and fantasies come alive. Due to my fascination with movies, I am interested in becoming a motion picture director. Through research, I’ll determine if this is the career for me. First of all, there are many things that a person must contemplate before deciding to follow the career of directing. For example, some typical tasks in a day may include, holding meetings to discuss the status of production or more importantly, agreeing on a good angle to shoot the next scene from. If the director knows exactly what he/she wants, they will explain to the actors and actresses motions and facial gestures that will improve the atmosphere of the setting.
