Aims and Objectives of Business

• To conserve and enhance the UKs diverse heritage
• To ensure that everyone can learn about, have access to, and enjoy their heritage

How Aims and Objectives Relate to Services Provided
The aims of the heritage lottery fund all relate to the quality of services they give/produce, for example one of their aims is to increase educational content. ...

Task 2
Human Resources
All major business have a human resources department, the purpose of a human resources department is to make sure that the company’s employees are happy.
The human resources department makes sure that their employees:
• Do work they find interesting but also challenging.
The human resources department has to make sure that their employees find their work interesting but also mind stimulating. This is because if the work would be really easy or boring the employees wouldn’t work hard and they wouldn’t enjoy what they do. ...
The human resources department also has to make sure that the employees feel safe and secure at work, because again they want their employees to feel comfortable and stress free, so they put more effort into their work. But they also have to make sure that the employees don’t have too much work because again this may make the employee stressed and unhappy. ...
So all the employees feel happy and concentrate on their work the human resources department, have to make sure that all their employees are treated equally. This is because the human resources department doesn’t want their employees to think about their problems or insecurities when they are at work. ...
But that’s not the only thing that the human resources deal with; they also deal with matters like:
• The recruitment and dismissal of staff
• The training, development and promotion of staff
• Health and Safety
• Making sure everyone has good working conditions
• Liaison with employees organisations and trade unions
The human resources almost run the business in their own way, and if not the human resources department there may be arguments and conflicts in the company between the employees, and no one would be there the arguments don’t happen. This could have major affects on the way the business runs. The main task for the human resources department is to keep all their employees happy, this is because happy employees do more work

Task 2
Finance Department
Finance is considered to be one of the most important functions, but it’s not just important for the owner of the company but it is also very important for all employees of the business. ...
• Provide up-to date financial documentation and information about the business performance and financial status for managers.
The finance department controls everything that the business does. The finance department would control the financial side of the business; they would allocate different departments budgets and expect the department manager to keep to their planned levels of income and expenditure. The financial staff would check this regularly and make sure that the business is running smoothly, but there are three man areas of the finance department they are:
• Preparing accounts
• Paying wages and salaries
• Obtaining capital and resources
Finance Department Activities
The finance staff has to perform a range of activities, related to the checking and recording of all amounts received and paid. ...
Because of the things which I have listed I hope you can understand how much work is put into the company by the finance department. ...
Department Job Roles
Every single department in the Heritage Lottery Fund I have listed play a major role in the business, for example when The National History Museum applied for a grant so they can reconstruct the building, the first thing which happened is the application for was viewed by someone at the Operations Department, if the Operation Department thought that the case was worth dealing with, they then probably sent a surveyor to view the building and see if it really needed restoration. If the surveyor thought that the building did need some work done, they would then pass the case on to the Research department, who would make sure the money doest go to waste and the History Museum will keep on making profit. ... Employee organisations and unions work to check that the legal requirements are being followed and try to negotiate improvements or additional safeguards for staff where possible. ...
If an employee thinks that he/she has been treated unfairly, the employee is welcome to take the business/company to the employment tribunal, where the case would be further investigated. ...
So if a woman would be sacked because she is pregnant and she couldn’t work for the next 3 or 4 months, she could take the company to court on the Employment Rights Act 1996. ...
My opinion is that all these laws make employees feel safer and better at work, as they don’t have to think about issues, which may hurt them physically or mentally, and they can concentrate on their work. ...
Or even if you work in the same building and instead writing making a memo or calling everyone working for you, you could just write one e-mail and send duplicates to every one in your department. ...
