A Character Analysis

|
A Character Analysis In Katherine Anne Porter’s “The Jilting of Granny Weatherall”, the main character is Granny Weatherall, an old woman on her deathbed. Granny is the narrator in this story, and it is told in first person participant point of view using stream of consciousness style. Granny is traumatized from an event in her past that has never been resolved, but she is also the embodiment of her name, she “weathers all”. She raises four children, takes care of the sick and dying, and even fences one hundred acres of her farm with no one but a Negro boy for help (83).
