AIR QUALITY
Air Quality in Sydney is a major problem from a local to Global scale. Air pollution can affect and endanger human health and the environmental interests of plants and animals, therefore causing a worldwide problem for the greenhouse effect.
There are many pollutants being released into the atmosphere hence creating a major problem to the quality of Sydney’s air. Each year industrially developed countries generate billions of tons of pollutants creating major problems to air quality.
There are many contributors to the pollution in the atmosphere such as, emissions from motor vehicles, power stations, factories, transportation, and industrial pollutants constantly being released into the air and our environment.
The Major Causes of air Pollution in Sydney is the burning of fossil fuels such as oil, coal, diesel, fuel and petroleum. When the emissions of these poisonous gases are released they are the left floating in our atmosphere hence polluting the air.
According to the Australian Bureau of statistics (March 1999), air quality continues to be the highest environmental concern for NSW residents.
