eithanasia

lives have been taken by someone who should not hold the ability to do so. Doctors are the ones who perform this sinful process; last time I checked doctors are supposed to save and help lives not take them away from their patients. Though performed all over the world, legally or not, only one state in the United States has legalized “Assisted Suicide”. I could be wrong, but there has to be something wrong or immoral about Euthanasia if only one state has adopted its practice. Some cases have even shown misuse of Assisted Suicide and also unsuccessful attempts. If you, the reader are a firm believer in making Euthanasia legal, my argument will probably not change that, but I ask you this, when you are lying on your death bed would you want your life in the hands of the wrong person? I did not think so. Your life could end up at the disposal of someone who does not care about the well being of you or your loved ones. Euthanasia is murder anyway looked upon. Physician Assisted Suicide could be placed next to immoral in the dictionary. History can help to illuminate our question, but only if the historical facts are accurately understood. Many doctors are confused about what ancient doctors had to say about killing and allowing to die. Today the Hippocratic Oath is the traditional standard of medicine. ( Leone. pg. 27.) The Hippocratic Oath is “I will give no deadly medicine to anyone if asked, nor suggest any such council” ( Katz Internet) So if all doctor are supposed to follow this Oath then why are there still cases of Assisted Suicide? Intention is the key word, anyone who kills a patient intends that the patient should die by way of that action. That is what makes Euthanasia wrong, but allowing to die is not to be confused with allowing a natural death. Some acts of allowing to die are also morally wrong, those in which the doctors intention is the death of the patient.
