Measure for Measure
People expect others to follow rules, but they should start with themselves. In Shakespeare’s Measure for Measure, everything seems to circle around rules and strict punishments to people who do not follow them accurately. The Duke, who is in charge of ruling Vienna and making everyone behave as they should, decides to pretend to leave town, but instead disguises himself as a Friar to observe what goes on in his absence in the hands of Lord Angelo, as a temporary leader. In order to clear the city of unlawful sexual activity, which is the worst behavior, Angelo enforces the rules very strictly.
