MACBETH
Discuss the director’s interpretation of Act One Scene One through to Act Two Scene Two in Trevor Nunn’s RSC production of Macbeth
Trevor Nunn opens with the cast standing in a circle on a black floor. They all take a step in, and in sequence they sit down on milk crates, which have been, painted black, as has the rest of the totally bare stage which is maintained through out except for a few necessary minimal props. ... ‘Art thou afeard to be the same in thine own act and valour as thou art in desire? ... Come to my woman’s breast and take my milk for gall. ... His attitude through out is of ‘ I’m better than every one else’.
