... The story is the one of Romeo and Juliet, which has been one of Shakespeare’s most acclaimed pieces of writing. ... Who should be blamed for Juliet and Romeo’s deaths? ...
Initially, Lord Capulet, Juliet’s father, was the responsible for his daughter’s death and also her husband’s. Lord Capulet’s determination to get Juliet married to Paris, a young nobleman and kinsman of the Prince, left Juliet with a deadly choice. ... On the other hand, Juliet’s reason for refusing to get married so sudden is because she’s already married to Romeo, but obviously not her father or anyone else is suppose to know about this. Secondly, she can’t love any other man but Romeo, so it’s impossible for her to love Paris. Also, she knows that by committing the act of marriage again she would be betraying both Romeo and the church.
Consequently, because of Juliet’s father impertinence, Juliet immediately goes to her mother to get her to persuade her father not to force her to get married. But her mother’s lack of strength to contradict her husband does not help Juliet change her father’s mind.
