statement of the True modern crime fiction story is being less a puzzle and more a

The statement of the True ‘modern’ crime fiction story is being less a puzzle and more a social drama, edging closer to the mainstream of fiction, and is in my opinion true with the exception of a few minor details. ...
“Modern” crime fiction has moved considerably more towards that of the social drama.
The modern texts I have chosen to test the validity of the previous statement are
The novel- Unnatural exposure By Patricia Cornwell, written in 1997. ...
Now my definitions however of what the Old and New crime fiction eras signify to me, in relation to my chosen texts, Firstly Traditional Crime fiction is definitely more of puzzle in that the majority of the earlier period of crime fiction stories were real whodunits, where the thrill solely lies in the question unanswerable to the very end. (Which is exactly what my definition of a puzzle is too me, although definitely acquiring the gest of things or of the whole picture, there’s that last significant piece or clue if u like, that reveals all. This statement of course implying that the close relationships of the true ‘modern’ crime fiction story to that of mainstream fiction, then to more of a puzzle (hinting that of a traditional crime fiction text.)But also having almost the entire storyline orbit around the crime itself, where everything is relevant to the case, and it things doesn’t just happen for a reason.
Traditional crime fictions are also filled with …
RED HERRINGS which just adds to the desire to complete the puzzle and work out what’s going on. ...
Another characteristic of the Traditional crime fiction is …THE NUMEROUS AMOUNTS OF SUSPECTS. This definitely occurs with the 1946 Film version of The Big Sleep, I think we can all remember that there were just a few suspects along the course of that film which made us all the more suspicious about who could it be, as it seemed everyone had an alibi yet a motive, This of course supplies us the responders with the essential ingredient of mystery which VERY crime fiction piece needs in time frame.
