Anne Frank

Anne Frank (1929-1945) was a sixteen-year-old victim during the Holocaust. ... Anne is known all around the world for her diary. ... Anne was a vigorous and talkative girl, and therefore, she had a lot of things to write about. ... Even though Anne was hiding from the Nazis, which was a very daring thing to do because the consequences were severe, she still kept up with her studies, spoke her mind, and was sure to be cautious throughout the day in the Secret Annex.
Anne Frank, a young, curious girl, still kept up with her studies. To begin with, in her book, Anne Frank, Rachel Epstein wrote that Anne studied a lot “because she enjoyed it and because she did not want to be behind when she went back to school after the war” (36). Anne was a studious girl. ... Anne did not have to study, but she did it for her own good. Secondly, in their book, Anne Frank – Beyond the Diary, Ruud van der Rol and Rian Verhoeven stated that Anne “spent a lot of time studying her schoolbooks, a large pile of which had been taken along” (58). When Anne packed her belongings to take along with her she prepared herself to study while hiding in the Annex. Next, in his book, Anne Frank, Richard Amdur wrote that Anne and her sister Margot “also took lessons in shorthand, courtesy of a correspondence course in which Elli Vossens had enrolled” (50). Elli Vossens, one of the workers who was helping the Franks hide out, enrolled Anne and her sister in a course that helped them study. In addition, in her book, Anne Frank – The Biography, Melissa Müller wrote, “Until twelve-thirty, Anne, Margot, and Peter did schoolwork – languages, mathematics, geography, history- so as not to fall behind their classmates”(169). Anne studied all kinds of subjects so she would not be behind in any of the subjects when she went back to school.
