How To Be Safe In College What is unfortunate that in today’s society there is a high risk of crime everywhere, especially on our college campuses. Every student, female or male, should know how to secure their safety and prevent campus crime. Here are some crucial crime prevention and security tips that are beneficial to every student. The first and most important tip is to trust in your instincts when you sense danger. After doing research, statistics prove that ninety-five percent of students say they listen to their gut instincts. Listening to these feelings help prevent student’s chances of becoming a rape, theft, or a murder victim. For example, if Mary feels like someone is following her she needs to walk towards a store, a lighted area, a class room, or a busy street. Many experts suggest that students should not walk directly to their dorm or apartment if they are being followed. Some experts even suggest that Mary could turn around to make the predator know that she knows he is following her.
