The demand for quality of service by customers can be illustrated by Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. These human needs are categorized into five different groups: physiological, safety, social, esteem and self actualization (Haksever 2000). In today’s society, people have high demanding standards. This is seen only after they feel respected and secure physically, socially and psychologically. After securing their basic needs, customers then draw their attention to self-fulfilment, and this might be the reason why they have high expectations with the hospitality or tourism industry.
