Impact of colonialism in africa

Leroy W. Tyler III Professor Muller Thinking and Writing About Work 01 October 2003 Work Autobiography Working for others sucks, but we all have to start somewhere. My curriculum vitae (work history) is comprised of ten jobs all of which I hated doing, but they molded me into the person I am today. This is the road I took to becoming a successful real estate investor. In 1979 during my senior year in high school I got my first job at Kane Security as an usher (similar to Andy Frain). My duties included showing people to their seats, directing them to conference rooms or showing them where to park. It was a minimum wage job but I didn’t care I was just glad to be making my own money especially since senior prom was coming up. The overall experience wasn’t bad but, some of the people could be very rude and obnoxious so I had to develop some people skills in a hurry and learn to control my tongue in public (I have a problem with profanity). After approximately seven months on the job I couldn’t control my tongue any longer after my supervisor made one of his “You People” comments to me, I shouted every expletive I could think of; another black usher heard the argument and he joined in because all black the ushers knew that this guy was prejudice but nobody would ever say anything, but that day it boiled over. Needless to say we were both terminated; ironically, the supervisor was able to keep his job. After leaving Kane Security I was hired at McDonalds. This job played a very important role in my life for more reasons than one; again it was a minimum wage job but it was convenient considering it was right across the street from my home. I had a very good relationship with the supervisor (Wise Finley), who was also the supervisor of three other McDonalds; he took me under his wing and gave me my first lessons in management.
