Nile River

From the very beginning, the Nile River flowed through Ancient Egypt, a long narrow country bordered by deserts on the east, south, and west, with the Mediterranean Sea just to the north. 4132 miles in length, the Nile River flows from South to North and is formed by three major tributaries: the White Nile, Blue Nile, and the Atbara. The Nile has many uses, especially since there are so many cities along it. The seven major cities that lay beside the Nile River are Cairo, Gondokoro, Khartoum, Aswan, Thebes, Karnak, and Alexandria. With its many uses, the Nile River is so significant to ancient Egyptians, and they probably could not have survived without it. One major use for this River is food and water supply, since all people need food and water to survive.
