STRATEGIC VISION & STRUCTURE OF BRIARWOOD PURPOSE I have been working for Briarwood for the past two and a half years. ... IMPORTANCE OF A VISION STATEMENT There is no vision statement that is defined officially for the organization. It is there in the minds of the management team and is not communicated well enough to the employees as a vision statement. ... It is important that an organization have a vision statement that is defined clearly and passed on to the employees in the organization. ... This vision statement can be explained and communicated to them within a larger context so that they understand the impact each of their tasks have on the organization. This vision has to be a passion for them. The employees have to accomplish the objectives of the vision and they need to be rewarded accordingly. Lack of vision is like being blind and you do not know where the organization is heading. ... Otherwise as mentioned in “Excess capacity – or lack of vision? ... A vision statement must be made up of two parts to describe the overall business intent. ... The second part of it is the mission statement that describes today, why it exists today, and what you are going to do to pursue your vision of the future. Together this provides the direction for the business by focusing your attention on doing things day-to day to accomplish the mission, while taking steps to pursue the vision of the future – the long-term business intent. A solid vision statement creates commitment and understanding. ... The vision statement must be well thought out so that the statement is heartfelt and excites and inspires those who read it – especially the employees that take action. ... By establishing a vision statement, the organization can greatly improve business focus. ...
