The 1960's were a time of great change various walks of life. Not only did humankind land on the moon, we also struggled for equality for minorities and women. To understand the American Independent Party requires a look at one of the founders, Governor George C. Wallace. No other single individual person is more closely tied witht the American Indepenedent Party than Wallace. George Corley Wallace was born in in Clio, Alabama on August 25 1919 to George and Mozell Wallace.
