Aztec sacrifices were usually animals or enemy soldiers or people, but sometimes Aztecs civilians were sacrificed. The largest know sacrifice by the Aztec’s took place during the reign of Montezuma II when 12,000 enemy soldiers were sacrificed at one time. ... They also believed that if they sacrificed a brave enemy soldier, his strength would pass to the Aztec warriors and make them even stronger. Each morning every Aztec civilian would perform their own sacrifice by pricking their finger with a cactus needle and letting a drop of their blood soak into the ground. ...
Farming was a very important part of Aztec life; it kept the Aztec people alive through harsh times and also provided a great source of income for the Aztec people.
