The World War II era was a major turning point in the history of the art, propaganda to be exact. Webster’s Dictionary defines propaganda as the spreading of rumors, facts, and information in a biased fashion to further one’s cause. WWII Propaganda did just that.
There is in fact so much WWII propaganda that I have decided to focus on just the anti-axis portion of it. The axis is term given to the Nazi Germany, Japanese and Italian alliance.
The United States used anti-axis propaganda to create a sense of unity and to minimize sympathy for Hitler and Japan. They also used propaganda to convince Americans to contribute to the war effort by buying victory bonds and rationing their supplies.
