Progress is defined as a steady advance in improving something. When Columbus discovered America in 1492, little did he know that he was about to make the biggest progress in the world since its creation. It all started when Columbus spotted land on October 12, 1492. From there, he started trading supplies with the Native Americans and created the first settlement in America, this was step one of the progress. After the first voyage Columbus brought back more supplies and people on later voyages, that started the migration of peoples to America.
