AMERICAN HISTORY...17 CENTURY
In the course of the seventeenth century, British North America was able to develop a region characterized by rising worldliness, individualism and competitiveness after being free from the English government. This freedom from “centralized control” allowed three very different societies to develop in British North America. They were New England the West Indies and the Chesapeake. Each had different systems of land use, labor, religious practice and family/community experience. Everyone’s main goal for coming to America was to live happy, prosperous life.
