Today, D-day is thought of as the most influential battle the world has ever known. Though most people think of D-day as a war won by the Americans, Canada and its military played a major role in its victory. It is appropriate that we remember the Canadian soldiers when we think of D-day because, without them, the mission might not have succeeded, changing the course of history.
