Medieval War The Children’s Crusade An important event between 1200 A.D. to 1399 A.D. was the Crusades. What happened with the children’s crusade? The first of three books that had been looked at was “CRUSADES” edited by Jonathan Riley-Smith. It covers most aspects of the Crusades in depth but is discreet on the Children’s Crusade. But what it does offer is this. It tells us about how a German 12 year old boy was convinced that God had come to him and told him to retrieve the Holy Lands. He than went out and preached to the children of Germany to come with him and soon managed to get thousands of children.
