In 1212, during the reign of Roman Pope Innocent III, a poor young shepherd boy from Cloyes, France (just south of Paris) approached King Philip Augustus II of France and told him he had been sent by Jesus to lead a Crusade that would march to Jerusalem and "free the Christians in the Holy Land" and liberate the Holy Sepulchre (where Jesus body apparently had been buried). ...
In the same year, another young boy from Germany also stated he was under Divine Will to lead a Crusade to Jerusalem, that God would convert the Muslims to Christianity andthat he would be given further orders once he arrived there. ...
It is said that Pope Gregory had a church built near the Island of Peter (Ecclesia Noworun Innocentium), off the coast of Sardinia, to allow people to view the bodies of the dead children whod washed up on shore and been buried.
