The original colonies of America, although all belonging to the British empire, developed vast differences, specifically in the New England and Chesapeake regions. The variation between these colonies is largely due to the original motive behind settling them, their governments, and the lives of the families who settled the regions. ... In time, these colonies did grow to be extremely rewarding for both England and America. ...
