There were many factors that accounted for the success of the prohibition movement in the United States during the progressive reform. As many officials, local and federal, pushed for reform in the nation, the progressive movement came to be. Part of the movement was the prohibition. Before the public would accept a reformation, many journalists were using a sort of catalyst to stimulate the idea. The public had to be informed of all the dirty realities of politics and the scandals conditions in factories and slums (Doc. O). Newspapers found that eh middle- class readers loved to read about all the schemes and scandals in politics.
