How were promiscuous immigrants molded into tne people under the calling of the American Creed? Disuniting of America by Arthur M. Schlesinger Jr. starts off with this uniting history of America. And yet, since the Second World War, the cult of ethnic identity has been blossoming, accompanied by escalating revolt against Anglocentric values and waning confidence in the American future. History can be invented, exaggerated, or falsified to appease or please an ethnic group. Having suffered low-esteem in reality as well as injustice in history, black people feel the necessity to apotheosize their unique identity, continuous tradition, and even glorious role models that they are unable to dig up out of the contemporary African continent.
